We are comprised of orchestra students in grades 4-12 that go to school in the Eastlake Learning Community.  Our primary purpose is to provide future and current string players with the knowledge and experiences to be successful musicians.  To us, success does not mean becoming a professional level musician.  Instead, it means that our students will learn to play their instrument to the best of their ability and gain an understanding and enjoyment of participating in a music program.

Our elementary program begins in the fourth grade with an introduction to the stringed instrument of their choice – violin, viola, cello, or string bass.  Classes are 2-3 times per week before school at Eastlake.  Bus transportation is available.  Students in 5th grade may also join orchestra at the beginning level.  For those students in the 4th or 5th grade with at least one year of string instruction, we have an intermediate level elementary group that meets twice per week, also at Eastlake before school.  The elementary schools in our area include Blackwell, Carson, McAuliffe, Mead, and Smith.
